Conditions of Entry

  1. Closing date for receipt of entries is 1 September 2011

  2. All walkers raising sponsorship do so in the name of Bluebell Wood and not for any other cause.

  3. Under 18 year olds to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  4. The start for all participants is from Baslow Village Hall at 8.30 am.   It is a circular route finishing back at Baslow Village Hall. The walk must be completed within 11 hours.

  5. Full details of checkpoint closing times will be sent with final details. The organisers reserve the right to request retirement of participants who fail to reach a checkpoint by its closing time or who are deemed unlikely to reach the next checkpoint by the appropriate time.

  6. All participants should carry either Leisure O S Map 24 or Landranger 119, a compass, suitable clothing and equipment to ensure safety throughout the walk, food for consumption on route, torch, whistle and a basic first aid supply for minor injuries.    Personal medication including Inhalers and Antihistamines should be carried, also sun block.

  7. All participants must honour the Country Code.  The walk is routed entirely on Public Footpaths and entering private land is forbidden. It is necessary to cross some main roads, special care should be exercised and the roads crossed at the designated crossing point.

  8. Participants retiring must do so at a checkpoint.  Transport will be provided to the finish where all retirees must report to results staff.

  9. Keepsake mementoes will be awarded on an ad hoc basis.

  10. Any cancellation notified in writing to the Entries Secretary, Mrs Barabara Tyson, Dale Cottage, Bar Road, Baslow, Derbyshire, DE45 1SF by 14 August 2011 and will be entitled to a refund of £8. No fees can be returned subsequently.

  11. Participants may bring dogs. The dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, be fit to complete the walk and shall be the participant’s sole responsibility.

  12. Participants names will be placed on computer for the sole purpose of the Chatsworth Challenge walk and no other purpose. If any competitor objects they should inform the Event Secretary.

  13. The organisers can accept no responsibility for injury, damage or loss resulting from this event.

  14. The entry form must be signed by participants in the space designated.

  15. The organisers reserve the right to incorporate additional rules as they deem necessary. Their decision will be final.
